Working in file mode
Aswellasbeingabletoplayback„normal“lmsormusicfromCDs/DVDs,this
DVDplayerisalsoabletoplaybackvideooraudiolesfromCDsorDVDswhich
arestoredinthelesystem.Suchmediaarefrequentlyavailableifyoucreate
CDsofdigitalphotographsorMP3musiconyourcomputer.
1.  PlacetheCDorDVDonthetray➯Page 50, „Loading a CD/DVD“.
2. Selectthedesiredle(s)andstartthereplay➯Page 54, „Selecting le/
directory and starting replay“.
Mediamaycontainnumerousdata/lesanddirectories.Youmustthereforerst
determinethedatatobeplayed.
1. Ifyouhavenotalreadydoneso,placetheCDorDVDinthedrive.
2. Atwo-columnmenuwindowappearsinwhichthedirectories(ifthereareany
directoriespresent)orthelesarelistedontheleft.
3. UsetheCursor buttons (Fig.2/8)toselectthedesireddirectoryofleinthe
left-handlist.
4. SelectthisbypressingtheENTER-button(Fig.2/7).
File: Onceyouhaveselectedale,thisisnowdisplayeddirectlyorplayedback.
Directory: Ifyouhavecalledupadirectory,alistoflesnowopens.
HeretooyoucanselectthedesiredlewiththeCursor buttons andtheENTER-
button(Fig.2/7).Ifyouhaveselectedale,thisisnowdisplayedorplayedback.
Please note:
Therearebothlotsofburningandcompressingmethodsaswellashighquality
differencesinCDs/DVDsandburnedCDs/DVDs.
Forthisreasontheremayoccasionallybeproblemswhenlesareplayedback
(forexamplelesaredisplayedbutcannotbeplayedback).Thisisno malfunc-
tionoftheplayer.
 NOTE:
Withthe„“-button(Fig.2/8)youcanreturnfromthelestothedirectories(in
stopmode).
Pressthe„“-button(Fig.2/20)ontheremotecontroltostopthereplay.
TheDVDplayerisexcellentlysuitableforviewingdigitalphotographs.
Thesephotosmaybestoredonlyanymedium(DVD,CD,etc.)supportedby
theDVDplayer.
 NOTE:
• Pleaseensureasuitablesizeofthephotos.Largesizephotosmaytake
sometimetobedisplayedormaynotbedisplayedatall.Itisofadvantage
ifthesizeofthephotocorrespondswiththescreensizeoftheplayback
device.ForTVsthisisnormally1024x576pixel(TV-aspect16:9)or768x576
(TV-aspect4:3).
• Pleasenotethatanyconversiongenerallyinvolvesalossofdatawith
respecttotheoriginalformat.
Startthereplayofphotosbyselectingthelefromwhichthereplayshallstart➯
Page 54, „Selecting le/directory and starting replay“.
 NOTE:
Afterafewsecondsapreviewpictureappearsontheright-handsideinthe
two-columnmenuwindow.
Scrolling
  Manual: PresstheI (Fig.2/25)orI -button(Fig.2/26)ontheremote
controltoscrollforwardorback.
  Automatic: PresstheENTER-button(Fig.2/7).Thepictureschangeauto-
matically.
Rotating a photo
YoucanusetheCursorbuttonstorotateaphotoduringreplay:
  Rotate clockwise for 90°: CursorButton„“
  Rotate counter-clockwise for 90°: CursorButton„“
Changing the default settings
Alargenumberofdefaultsettingscanbecomfortablychangedviathescreen
menu.
PresstheSETUP-button(Fig.2/9)ontheremotecontroltostartthemenufor
changingthedefaultsettings.
 NOTE:
Manyofthesedefaultsettingscanbechangedviaboththeremotecontroland
themenu.Thedifferenceis:Ifyouchangethedefaultsettingsviatheremote
control,thesechangeswillonlybevaliduntiltheDVD-Playerisswitchedoffor
theDVDischanged.
However,anychangesmadeinthemenuarepermanent.
