Measuring for the Height of Your Draperies
To determine the vertical height for mounting the brackets, you need to decide if the bottom of the
draperies should fall at the window sill, below the sill, fall to the floor or puddle on the floor.
The top of the draperies should be approximately 4” above the glass so the back of the pleats will not
be visible from outside the window.
Determine the Measurements of your Brackets
Three important measurements to know are:
Projection – the distance from the front of the bracket to the wall
Return – the distance from the center of the bracket cup to the wall
Clearance – the distance from the back of the pole to the wall
Pay attention to the Projection and Return measurements of the bracket.
The Return for a standard drapery hardware bracket is 3 ½ inches.
