correctly. Unless it is permitted by specific KDB procedures or continuous transmission is
specifically restricted by the device, the reported SAR must be scaled to 100% transmission duty
factor to determine compliance at the maximum tune-up tolerance limit. When a device is not
capable of sustaining continuous transmission or the output can become nonlinear, and it is
limited by hardware design and unable to transmit at higher than 85% duty factor, a periodic duty
factor within 15% of the maximum duty factor the device is capable of transmitting should be
used. The reported SAR must be scaled to the maximum transmission duty factor to determine
compliance. Descriptions of the procedures applied to establish the specific duty factor used for
SAR testing are required in SAR reports to support the test results.
7. Per KDB 447498 D01v06, for each exposure position, if the highest output power channel
Reported SAR ≤ 0.8W/kg, other channels SAR testing is not necessary.
8. Per KDB 865664 D01v01r04, for each frequency band, repeated SAR measurement is required
when the measured SAR is ≥ 0.8W/kg.
9. Per KDB 248227 D01v02r02, for 802.11b DSSS , when the reported SAR of the highest
measured maximum output power channel for the exposure configuration is ≤ 0.8 W/kg, no
further SAR testing is required in that exposure configuration.
10. Per KDB 248227 D01v02r02, OFDM SAR is not required when the highest reported SAR for
DSSS is adjusted by the ratio of OFDM to DSSS specified maximum output power and the
adjusted SAR is ≤ 1.2 W/kg.
11. According to KDB 865664 D02v01r02, SAR plot is required for the highest measured SAR in
each exposure configuration, wireless mode and frequency band combination.
12. The WLAN Reported 1g SAR (W/kg) has been calculated together with the duty cycle scaling
factor 1.007 for 2.4G WLAN, 1.0 for 5G WLAN and 1.082 for Bluetooth.
