Sending messages to FileMaker Pro clients
You can send a message to FileMaker Pro clients connected to databases hosted by FileMaker
Server. You can send a message to selected or all FileMaker Pro clients.
To send a message to one or more clients:
1. Choose Clients, then select a client in the Connected Clients list.
2. For Actions, select Send Message or Send Message to All Clients.
If you select Send Message, the message is sent to the selected clients.
If you select Send Message to All Clients, the message is sent to all clients connected to all
databases hosted by FileMaker Server.
3. Click Perform Action to open the Send Message dialog box.
4. Type a message, then click Send Message.
FileMaker Server sends the message to the selected clients.
Notes
• You cannot send messages to clients connected via Instant Web Publishing or Custom Web
Publishing.
• You can also send a message to FileMaker Pro clients by scheduling a Send Message task.
