New features in FileMaker Server 9
FileMaker Server 9 includes the following new features and improvements:
All-new Admin Console
Start from almost any networked computer. No installation required.
Same user interface on both Windows and Mac OS.
Configure and administer all FileMaker Server components from a single administration
application.
Run server-side ScriptMaker scripts
Schedule a ScriptMaker™ script in a hosted database to run on FileMaker Server. See
Running ScriptMaker scripts
(page 131).
Upload databases
Upload Database assistant enables you to upload databases to FileMaker Server from
almost any networked computer. See Uploading database files
(page 33).
Upload multiple databases at once.
Requires administrator login.
Receive email notifications
Get an email message when scheduled backups and scripts complete successfully. See
Enabling email notifications in schedules
(page 147).
Know when FileMaker Server logs errors and warnings. See Email notification settings
(page 57).
Publish data to external web sites using PHP
Custom Web Publishing with PHP enables you to access FileMaker data from a PHP web
