ILEMAKER SERVER 9 HELP 14
Enabling sharing via ODBC and JDBC
In this Deployment assistant step, enable your server to be a data source via ODBC and JDBC, if
you purchased a FileMaker Server Advanced license.
To enable sharing via ODBC and JDBC:
1. Click Yes, enable ODBC/JDBC to enable sharing or click No, do not enable ODBC/JDBC
to disable.
2. Click Next to go to the next step.
Click Back to return to the previous step or Cancel to exit the Deployment assistant.
Notes
• Enabling this feature allows clients to use FileMaker Server as a data source using ODBC
and JDBC. For more information, see F
ILEMAKER ODBC AND JDBC GUIDE on the Start
Page.
• This OBDC/JDBC data source feature is not needed to host FileMaker Pro databases that
access an external SQL data source via ODBC. See Accessing external ODBC data
sources (page 105).
• You can change this setting in Admin Console. See Enabling sharing via ODBC and JDBC
(page 104).
