Scheduling administrative tasks
The Schedules pane lists the scheduled tasks performed on databases hosted by FileMaker
Server. Scheduled tasks run automatically if Allow Enabled Schedules to Run is selected and the
selected schedule is enabled. See Enabling and disabling schedules
(page 140).
Viewing scheduled tasks details
The list displays a summary of each defined schedule, including the task it performs, the last time it
ran, and the next time it will run.You can view selected schedule details in Details for.
Managing scheduled tasks
Select a schedule, choose one of the following Actions, then click Perform Action:
You create or edit schedules with the Schedule assistant. The Schedule assistant guides you
through the steps to specify the scheduled task details, set the frequency, and send an email
notification when the scheduled task is completed. For information about creating and editing
scheduled tasks, click the Help button in the Schedule assistant.
For Actions, choose To
Create a schedule Run the Schedule assistant
to create one of the following
scheduled tasks:
Back Up Databases: back up
all hosted databases,
databases in selected folders, or selected databases. See
Scheduling database backups
(page 128).
Run Script: Run ScriptMaker
scripts (see Running
ScriptMaker scripts (page 131)) or system-level script
files (see Running system-level script files
(page 132)).
Send Message: Send messages to clients of hosted
databases. See Sending scheduled messages to clients
of hosted databases (page 133).
Edit a schedule Run the Schedule assistant to change scheduled tasks. See
Editing schedules
(page 136).
Duplicate a schedule Duplicate an existing schedule. See Duplicating a schedule
(page
137).
Delete selected schedules Delete the selected schedules. See Deleting a schedule (page
138).
Run a schedule now Run the selected schedule immediately. See Running a schedule
manually (page 139)
Enable all schedules Enable all listed schedules. See Enabling and disabling schedules
(page 140).
Disable all schedules Disable all listed schedules. See Enabling and disabling
schedules (page 140).
Enable selected schedules Enable selected schedules. See Enabling and disabling
schedules (page 140).
Disable selected schedules Disable selected schedules. See Enabling and disabling
schedules (page 140)
