Chapter 7
Configuring the Web Publishing Engine
After installing the Web Publishing Engine software components, use the Administration Console to configure the
Web Publishing Engine.
About the Web Publishing Engine Administration Console
The Administration Console software is installed with the Web Server Module software on the web server host
computer. You use the Administration Console in a web browser to configure the Web Publishing Engine via the
connection through the web server. You can use the Administration Console on any computer that has access to
the web server.
General steps for configuring the Web Publishing Engine
Here is a summary of the steps for using the Administration Console to configure the Web Publishing Engine.
1. Specify the following required configuration settings:
1 a FMSA Admin Console account, a user name and password for the Administration Console
1 IP address of the host computer where the Web Publishing Engine is installed
1 a WPE Admin account, a user name and password for the Web Publishing Engine
1 IP address of the host computer where FileMaker Server is installed
1 FileMaker Server identifier and optional passcode that match the identifier and passcode you registered in
FileMaker Server for the Web Publishing Engine

2. As necessary, disable the individual web publishing technologies that you want to block on the Web Publishing
Engine. By default, all of the following web publishing technologies are enabled:
