2. Choose 100 Files, 75 Files, 50 Files, or 25 Files from the Maximum number of
files pop-up menu.
Selecting a lower number leaves more memory available for
FileMaker Pro Server. See appendix A, “Technical specifications and
optimization,” for more information about memory optimization.
3. Set any other preferences, and then click OK.

dialog box.
Changes made to preferences don’t take effect until you restart
FileMaker Pro Server.
Specifying a password for remote administration
Remote administration of FileMaker Pro Server from a FileMaker Pro 3.0
guest can be enabled with or without a password, or completely disabled.
(See “Using FileMaker Pro to control FileMaker Pro Server remotely” on
page 2-21 for more information on remote administration.)
To control access to remote administration of FileMaker Pro Server:
1. Choose Preferences from the Edit menu.
2. Select one of the following options for Remote administration:
If you select Disabled, the FileMaker Pro Server name is dimmed (not
selectable) when FileMaker Pro guests open the Hosts dialog box.
3. Set any other preferences, and then click OK.
