Copying and pasting OLE objects
Activating and deactivating OLE objects
You must activate an OLE object to work with it.
When you activate an OLE object, some applications open a
separate window.
To Do this
Copy an OLE object Select the object, and then choose Copy from the Edit menu
Paste an embedded object Copy the object, click the new location, and then choose Paste
object type or Paste As from the Edit menu. (Paste As provides
more options)
Paste a linked object Copy the object, click the new location, and then choose Paste
Linked object or Paste As from the Edit menu. (Paste As provides
more options)
Choose FileMaker Help Index from the Help menu, and then type:

To Do one of these
Activate an OLE object 1 Double-click the object
1 Select the object, choose Objects from the Edit menu, and
then choose a command from the submenu
Deactivate an OLE object 1 To deactivate a linked object, close the application that
created it
1 To deactivate an embedded object, click an area of the
FileMaker Pro file outside the object, choose a different
FileMaker Pro menu command, or switch to a different
FileMaker Pro file
