You can perform finds on related fields. See “Finding and omitting
related records” on page 10-34.
Finding information in different field types
In specific field types, you can find:
1 text that matches a word, phrase, or a string of characters in a text
field or in a calculation field that produces a text result
1 text characters that aren’t indexed (literal text)
1 numbers in a number field or in a calculation field that produces a
numeric result
1 dates in a date field or in a calculation field that produces a date result
1 times in a time field or in a calculation field that produces a time result
Note To find data in a container field, create a text or number field that
describes or identifies the contents of the container field. Then find the
value in the text or number field.
Finding text
Choose FileMaker Help Index from the Help menu, and then type:
