Chapter 4
Working with a FileMaker WebDirect solution
FileMaker WebDirect provides webpages and forms for interacting with solutions. Web users click
buttons in the status toolbar or choose menu items to browse, find, sort, add, and delete records.
Anyone who has an account for a hosted FileMaker WebDirect solution and knows the IP address
or domain name where it is hosted can access the solution. Depending on their account privileges,
web users can:
1 view records in different layouts and views
1 add, duplicate, and delete records
1 import and export records
1 add and edit data in fields
1 search the database to view a subset of records
1 create snapshot links to share found sets with FileMaker Pro users
1 sort the database to rearrange the records
This chapter explains how web users access and interact with FileMaker WebDirect solutions.
Important Manage accounts and privilege sets to restrict user access to database features for
both the desktop and the web. See FileMaker
Pro Help.
