Dual Voice Coil Flexibility
The 12″ PXW subwoofers are available with dual 2Ω or dual 4Ω voice coils. This means, you now have 1Ω, 2Ω, 4Ω and 8Ω drivers
available from one simple choice . Combine any number of woofers and you can ensure that you get the most possible power from
your amplifiers.
Subwoofer Cooling
Heat is the number one enemy of a subwoofer. All of Clarions subwoofers feature Spider Exhaust Technology to allow hot air to
escape from the outside of the voice coil assembly. Vented pole pieces allow airflow through the center of the motor structure to
further improve power handling. Finally, high temperature voice coil formers take the forefront in the battle against heat building
up in the voice coil. These features combine to reduce thermal compression (reduced output because of heat) and ensure reliable
operation.
