about Clarion’s 2005 source-unit line. Here’s a couple of highlights for you to chew on:

Source Units
Get the Skinny on iPod Control
Compatible with more than a quarter-million ProAudio
source units on the market today (dating back to 2001),
Clarion’s EA1251B iPod interface is your customer’s way
of “Podifying” their in-car experience. The interface, which
powers and charges the iPod during operation, is compati-
ble with source units with model numbers containing the
letter “Z” — which signifies that the unit offers CeNET control.
Mirroring the control of a CD changer, the interface
requires the user to create six playlists. The title of
each playlist must contain the word “clarion (no caps)”
followed by the playlist number (ie., clarion1 or clarion2).
The first playlist automatically collects all songs loaded
into the iTunes program. The user can personalize the
remaining five.
EA1251B Connectivity
• There are some restrictions when interfacing the iPod
with VRX models, as these multimedia source units can
only control up to 100 songs within a playlist.
• Source units with “DB” in the model number cannot be
connected to the interface.
• Interface is not equipped with a pass-through CeNET
connection. Installers must use Clarion’s CCA519 to
connect additional CeNET-controlled components.
