of entertainment can also go to the park or beach with
the new Calypso “Boombox.”
Calypso: What’s Different?
With Calypso, Clarion can still claim to have the smallest,
most compact “Plug & Play” SIRIUS unit on the market
today. The unit is compatible with any and all audio
systems as it offers wireless audio transmission using a
built-in FM transmitter. For installation, the home and car
kits come with a docking station, RCA connectors, and
an antenna.
With 120 channels to chose from, finding what you want
may seem difficult, but not with Clarion’s new Calypso.
The unit has the ability to prompt users when one of their
pre-selected favorite songs is playing. It also offers 30
presets, and an easy-to-use rotary knob for channel
navigation, as well as category, artist, and music-title scan.
Cosmetically, Calypso sports an attractive piano-like finish
and techno-blue illumination. For visibility, Clarion outfits
this transportable unit with an attractive 128x48 dot matrix
graphic positive display, which scrolls artist, song and
channel information across the screen, and offers two
selectable font sizes for increased visibility.
