All Citizen desktop and midrange class devices of the CL-S series
come with a standard serial, parallel and USB interface. For most
applications, this is of course sufficient. However, if applications
require additional connectivity options, you can add interfaces to
Citizen label printers almost instantly.
In order to increase functionality, there are optional interfaces
available. Depending on the requirements, you can retrofit high-speed
parallel, Ethernet and Wi-Fi interfaces and change the range of func
tions accordingly. You get the Ethernet interface in two versions: if the
application requires a large number of protocols, then the standard
version is the right choice; the more affordable compact version
is optimally suited for lower communication requirements. The
Wi-Fi interface is compatible with 802.11b/g/n and provides instant
wireless connectivity right after installation.

Citizen label printers are known for their long service life.
Accordingly, large print runs result in high mechanical stress in the
printhead: the thermal head is in direct contact with the passing
label or transfer ribbon, which causes continuous abrasion. Once
print results become faint or contain gaps, the printhead needs to
be replaced. This can be done effortlessly and quickly with every
Citizen printer and is absolutely cost-effective, as the printer lasts
many times longer than a single printhead.
For every Citizen label printer there is the matching original Citizen
printhead. For full service solution providers, printheads are an
excellent opportunity for extra revenue and customer retention:
after changing the printhead, it needs to be adjusted first. This gua-
rantees even black prints and a long service life of the new thermal line.

Citizen thermal transfer ribbons are
specially produced for usage with
Citizen label printers. They offer opti-
mal compatibility and deliver high
quality results. You have your choice
between three types of colour ribbons
in various sizes.
Depending on the application and label mate-
rial use either wax colour ribbons, a combination of resin with wax
colour ribbons or pure resin colour ribbons, standard. Wax colour
ribbons are designed for printing on paper labels. For improved per-
formance on paper and plastic labels choose the combination colour
ribbons. For special applications and in combination with special label
materials, such as polyester, metal-coated films, etc. the resin colour
ribbons deliver the best durability.
