As successor to the successful Citizen CLP621/631 series, the
devices of the CL-S621/631 family provide absolutely professional
production of labels and tickets using either direct thermal or ther-
mal transfer printing. This flexible solution combined with the prin-
ters’ high performance guarantee smooth integration into almost
every application.
These desktop printers can handle small to medium-sized labels
and rating plates with a maximum width of 118 mm. The CL-S621
prints pin-sharp logos, pictures and barcodes particularly efficiently
with 8 dots/mm (203 dpi), the CLS631 with 12 dots/mm (300 dpi).
A speed of up to 150 mm per second always ensures fast produc-
tion and impresses with short waiting times.
The entire printhead mechanics is based on a sturdy metal
structure that opens wide enough to make roll and ink ribbon changes
as easy as possible. With thermal transfer ribbons of up to 360 m in
length, print about 6,800 labels without ink ribbon changes, reducing
interruptions to a minimum. The adjustable media sensor has been
optimised in the new version and guarantees absolute accuracy
as well as hundred percent correct placement, which is critical for
frequently changing media. High reliability, durable, stable construction
and the extendible, adaptive concept make the Citizen CL-S621/631
a first-choice label printer.

Patented features further impress
through first-class performance:
the ARCP system regulates the ink
ribbon tension automatically during
thermal transfer printing, thus preventing
wrinkled ribbons and subsequent failures. The printer switches auto-
matically between the Datamax and ZPL languages. Together with the
large Flash memory this cross emulation guarantees you a number of
applications. The CL-S621 comes standard with integrated serial and
USB interfaces. Optionally, you can also install a parallel, Ethernet or
Wi-Fi card for optimal connection to existing infrastructures. Equipped
with a tear-off edge in the standard version, the desktop printers can
be retrofitted if needed with easily-installed label dispensers or cutters.
This is especially useful for ticket and other applications where tags
and continuous feed media are cut into predefined lengths.

Based on the successful CL-S621, Citizen offers a desktop label printer
with a large print width and a small price tag: the CL-S6621 processes
media up to 178 mm wide with a maximum print width of 168 mm.
It is ideal for applications in warehousing, logistics, shipping and
everywhere where informational labels are needed. At 150mm/sec.
it prints high quality, long lasting labels via either a thermal transfer or
direct thermal process. With a resolution of 203 dpi (8 dots/mm) the
quality is consistently high, and the print results crisp and sharp.
As the smallest printer in its class, it also has an attractive price.
Thanks to its compact size (303 x 290 x 273 mm) it stands apart from
most comparable label printers.

Also integrated are an RS232
interface and a USB connection.
Optionally equip the CL-S6621
with additional parallel, Ether-
net or Wi-Fi interfaces. The large
built-in memory of 32 MB RAM and 8 MB Flash guarantees quick
processing, plus it saves symbols, etc. directly to the internal
memory. The cross-emulation supports Datamax and ZPL II, and
simplifies integration, even together with other printers. To make
things even easier for you, the drivers CD comes with the delivery.
Handling of the CL-S6621 is both easy and intuitive. Four keys and
four status LEDs improve your overview of the front, and minimize
training efforts. With an optional auto cutter and peeler, expand its
functionality even further and, according to the application, greatly
simplify handling.

The Citizen CL-S700 industrial label printer not only offers user-
friendly and professional handling and design, but its outstanding
performance also makes it the perfect choice for all applications
in industry, production and logistics. This compact device comes
with a robust metal body that meets all demands of an industrial
environment and ensures reliable uninterrupted operation.
The printer is suited for special applications and comes in
different models: the CL-S700 and CL-S700R models print labels with
8 dots/mm (203 dpi) at a speed of up to 254 mm per second. This
allows for production of large amounts of labels with graphics or
barcodes extremely quickly. A 4 MB flash memory and up to 16 MB
RAM guarantee a smooth printing process. Applications that use
2D codes are best served with the models CL-S703 and CL-S703R
that print pin-sharp labels at 12 dots/mm (300 dpi) and 200 mm
per second. The maximum label width of 118 mm results in a large
range of possible applications in warehouses, sales and production.
Additionally, the CL-S700DT model is designed
for the transport and logistics market, where only
ditrect thermal printing is required; as standard it
features a speed of up to 175 mm/sec., USB and
serial interfaces.
Citizen industrial printers can be installed in
almost any environment. The integrated Cross
Emulation guarantees unsophisticated com-
munication with existing equipment. Whether
ZPL or Datamax, the printer recognises the
protocol and adapts automatically.
The enormously space-saving design and technical
features turn even untrained users into label pros
and will definitely convince you: the pocketed power switch on the
front side prevents accidental activation. Simplified menu configu-
ration and intelligent handling are only a few of many striking features.
The Hi-Open mechanism allows the lid to be opened
completely vertically, so that the printer does not
require additional space for replacing consumables.
The Hi Lift metal mechanism lowers the printhead
by 90 degrees, which gives users direct access to
paper and ink ribbons, making it possible to change
consumables within only a matter of seconds.
The printer uses large media rolls with
a small core and 450 m ink ribbons
with high capacity for guaranteed
maximum operating time. Whether
wax, wax/resin or resin, the printer
automatically recognises the ribbons
with inner or outer winding. The integ-
rated ARCP technology tightens ribbon
and paper automatically, preventing
wrinkles and optimising results at the
same time.
Citizen CL-S700/703
The CL-S700R and CL-S703R models are
equipped with an integrated rewinder that
automatically winds the labels up after printing
or starts dispensing the labels. All standard
functions can be fully accessed from the front
panel. Difficult winding procedures from the
sides are prevented in a space-saving and
ergonomic manner.
The automatic tear-off device is integrated in all
versions that do not have the rewinder, which is
perfect for ticket and other applications where
tags and continuous feed media are to be cut
into predefined lengths. A cutter is optionally available in
two versions (heavy duty included). An optional dispenser edge is
also available for these models. Users remove the labels directly
from the printer without separating them from the liner.
All CL-S versions are equipped with parallel, serial
and USB interfaces. Optionally, two types
of Ethernet card - a compact and a
sophisticated premium version - are
available for retrofitting to all CL-S
printers as is a premium Wi-Fi card.
