After cleaning the cuff with a neutral detergent, lightly rinse it with water and let it dry in the air. Hard rubbing or washing in a washing machine will cause air leakage. Also, be careful not to get water into the air hose. GENERAL REMARKS General Remarks on blood pressure measurement For proper measurement of blood pressure • Take a deep breath five or six time and then relax before measuring blood pressure. If you are tense when taking the measurement, you will not get a valid reading.
• Measure blood pressure with a relaxed and quiet posture. Keep the center of the cuff at the level of your heart, and do NOT move your arm or talk during measurement. • Do NOT keep on measuring so many times, as your arm will have built up congestion of blood, and you will not get a valid reading. PRECAUTION FOR USE AND MAINTENANCE Precautions for use Precautions for maintenance • If you suffer from heart disease, high blood pressure or other circulatory disease, please consult your doctor first.
Manufacturer: Please help protect natural environment by respecting national and/or local recycling regulations when disposing of the batteries and the products at the end of their useful lives.

English Wind the arm cuff around the left upper arm tightly so that the bottom edge of the cuff is positioned about 1-2 cm (about 1 inch) above the elbow joint. The cuff should be wound so that one finger can be inserted under the cuff. Note that uneven cuff winding will prevent proper measurements. 1 – 2cm • When you wind the cuff, please wind the cuff next to the skin as possible.
3. Select the value for pressure for measurement 4. To start the measurement CH-40 3C SELECT MEMORY POWER START Press the “Start Switch”. The arm cuff pressurizes when the “Start Switch” is pressed. Press the “Pressure Setting Switch” and set the value to a value approximately 20~30mmHg above your normal systolic blood pressure. SYSTOLIC mmHg DIASTOLIC mmHg There are 4 settings; 130, 160, 200 and 250mmHg.
5. Turn power off DIASTOLIC mmHg Press the “Power Switch” to turn OFF. 6. Subsequent measurements AVE. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 PULSE/min CH-40 3C When a pulse is detected, the pressure value moves to the right side of the display. At this time the mark “Q” flashes and buzzer sounds. SELECT MEMO RY START SYSTOLIC mmHg AVE. 1 2 3 4 POWE R DIASTOLIC mmHg 5 6 7 When a measurement need to be made again, just press the “Start Switch” again.
8. Memory recall SYSTOLIC mmHg DIASTOLIC mmHg CH-40 3C AVE. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 PULSE/min SELEC T MEMO RY • By a second depressing of “Memory Recall Switch”, the value for latest (last measured value) blood pressure is displayed. The “ ] ” mark shifts to right (from “Ave.” to “1”) and notify that the value is the last measured (newest one) value. POWE R START This blood pressure monitor has a function which is able to display last measured value.
10. Battery replacement If the batteries become weak, the “ ” mark will appear in the display, indicating that batteries should be replaced with new ones. — Memory recall function does not work during automatic inflation and blood pressure measurement are being made. — New blood pressure value is stored in memory at pressing “Power Switch” for turn OFF or at pressing “Start Switch” for new measurement. 9.
DESCRIPTION OF DISPLAY MARKS DISPLAY MARK SYSTOLIC mmHg AVE. 1 2 3 4 DIASTOLIC mmHg 5 SYSTOLIC mmHg AVE. 1 2 3 4 6 7 SYSTOLIC mmHg 6 7 CORRECTIVE ACTION Measurement is begun, but the pressure was insufficient. Change the pressurization setting one level by pressing “Pressure Setting Switch” and measure once again. (Automatic re-measuring will be done only 1 time.) PULSE/min DIASTOLIC mmHg 5 CONDITION/CAUSE PULSE/min Appears when the blood pressure could not be measured accurately.
