Solution Dyed Polyester Spot Cleaning
Although our Solution Dyed Polyester has excellent inherent stain resistance features unmatched by other fibers,
prompt, proper spot cleaning using our recommended guidelines and spot cleaning solutions described in
this brochure will extend the beauty of your carpet. Our Solution Dyed Polyester can be spot cleaned using a
solution of 50/50 chlorine bleach and water when other recommended spot cleaning procedures outlined in this
brochure fail to completely remove a spot (see warning section). If the spot remains after following the spot cleaning
procedures outlined herein and using the 50/50 bleach and water solution, you are required to have the spot
professionally cleaned. If the professional cleaning is not successful, contact Technical Services at 800-944-2840 or
tek.services@beaulieugroup.com. For optimum performance and ease of maintenance, we recommend that your
Solution Dyed Polyester carpet have Scotchgard
™
Protector reapplied with each professional cleaning cycle in
order to help ease your care and maintenance needs.

Solution Dyed Filament Nylon and Nyluxe

BCF Solution Dyed Nylon carpets are made from very
colorfast fibers. Color is an integral part of PermaSoft
®
and Nyluxe
®
Solution Dyed Nylon fibers, making them
inherently very stain resistant. Always begin by using the spot cleaning solutions listed in this brochure. For more
stubborn stains, you may use a 50/50 solution of bleach and water (see warning section), followed by clear water
blotting. The use of this cleaning solution is dramatically different from those used on other carpet fibers and will not
damage your PermaSoft
®
Solution Dyed Filament Nylon carpet or Nyluxe
®
BCF Solution Dyed Nylon carpet when
used properly.
-WARNING-
You cannot use bleach cleaning solutions on any carpets other than our PermaSoft
®
Solution Dyed
Filament Nylon, Nyluxe
®
BCF Solution Dyed Nylon or Solution Dyed Polyester. Contact your retailer to
verify your carpet fiber. You must also avoid potentially dangerous reactions when using a chlorine bleach and
water solution if it comes in contact with ammonia-based cleaning solutions. NOTE: The pH of chlorine bleach is
very high. Contact with skin and eyes MUST be avoided! Splashes may be harmful to you and require FIRST AID
procedures or EMERGENCY CARE. After using the 50/50 bleach and water spot cleaning method, you MUST
thoroughly rinse the site by blotting with warm water, followed by dry blotting. These procedures will prevent track
off of any bleach residue onto less colorfast materials. Make sure your carpet is made from our PermaSoft

Normal Changes in Carpet Appearance
Over time, all carpets will change in appearance to some degree due to foot traffic. Regular maintenance and
a good quality cushion will limit these changes. Normal changes in appearance are characteristic of carpeting.
These changes are not considered manufacturing defects and are not covered under Beaulieu
®
warranties.
CRUSHING
Crushing is the compression of the carpet yarn tufts due to repeated foot traffic or furniture. Regular use of a
vacuum equipped with a beater bar or brush will help keep the pile’s best appearance.
MATTING
Matting is the physical entanglement of the yarn fibers which causes loss of pile thickness. Many factors can
contribute to matting such as: foreign residues agglomerating to the fibers, residue from spills or improper cleaning,
and oil from bare feet combined with pivoting or shuffling movements.
