This linecard requires a Supervisor 720 to be installed. It supports the 1Q8T and 1P7Q8T queue structures. A strict
priority queue is supported on the transmit side only. When a DFC3 is present, the input queue structure changes to
8Q8T. The WS-X6704-10GE module is pictured below:

More details on queue structures and buffer assignments for each linecard types are detailed in Appendix One.
3.3.9. 10-Gigabit Ethernet Line Cards (WS-X6708-10GE-3C,WS-X6716-10GE-3C)
Both cards ship with a DFC3 on board, there are 2 versions of the DFC3 available, the DFC3C and DFC3CXL. The
XL version of the DFC increased forwarding table capacity from 512K to 1M IPv4 routes. In addition, the Netflow
capacity on the XL version of the card is increased from 128K flows to 256K flows. The choice of DFC3 does not
alter the QoS capabilities of those boards. Both 10GE linecards have a 40G connection to the switching fabric, the
6708 has a a 2:1 oversubscription to the fabric and the 6716 as a 4:1 oversubscription. Both 10GE linecards can
work in transparent mode (no oversubscription). In this mode only 4 ports are made available and the queuing
strategy may be altered. The QoS specifications of each linecard are detailed in the following table.

Like the 6704 linecard, both versions of the 8 port 10GE linecard mandate a Supervisor 720 to be present in the
chassis. Due to the presence of the on board DFC, both linecards do not work with the Supervisor 32 or earlier
Supervisor models.
