Configuring a VPN Using the VPN Module
Configuring a VPN Routed Port Connection
This section describes how to configure the VPN module with a routed port connection to the WAN
router (see Figure 11).
Note A routed port uses a hidden VLAN.
Note In the following example, the VPN module is installed in slot 5 (Gigabit Ethernet interfaces 5/1 and 5/2).
To configure a routed port connection to the WAN router, follow these steps:
Step 1 Create an IKE policy, if necessary.
Step 2 Create a preshared key entry, if necessary.
Step 3 Create an ACL.
Step 4 Create a crypto map.

Step 5 From privileged EXEC mode, add an inside interface VLAN to the VLAN database as follows:
a. Router# config t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
b. Router(config)# vlan 513
Router(config-vlan)# name inside_interface_vlan
