IP Switching Commands
show adjacency
ISW-110
Cisco IOS IP Switching Command Reference
May 2008
• MAC address of the adjacent router
• Time left before the adjacency rolls out of the adjacency table. After the adjacency rolls out, a packet
must use the same next hop to the destination.
Examples The following examples show how to display adjacency information:
Cisco 7500 Series Router
Router# show adjacency
Protocol Interface Address
IP FastEthernet2/3 172.20.52.1(3045)
IP FastEthernet2/3 172.20.52.22(11)
The following example shows how to display adjacency information for a specific interface:
Router# show adjacency fastethernet 0/0
Protocol Interface Address
IP FastEthernet0/0 10.4.9.2(5)
IP FastEthernet0/0 10.4.9.3(5)
Cisco 10000 Series Router
Router# show adjacency

IP FastEthernet2/0/0 172.20.52.1(3045)
IP FastEthernet2/0/0 172.20.52.22(11)
Cisco 7500 and 10000 Series Router
