The following table describes the possible causes of user log problems.

empty

empty.
Check logger device

configuration.

The device might be
disabled
Verify that the
device is enabled
User log files contain
very little, or only
very recent
information.

more user-log
There are less messages
in the user log than
expected.
Show logger

File-Log size of the
device might be too small
causing it to recycle and
to delete older messages
Set the max-
file-size to
a reasonable size
(default and
recommended
size is 1MB)

User log files are
empty (or no new
messages are added)
while device
configuration is
correct

more user-log
The presented log is
empty or there are very
few messages.
Show logger

File-Log
Logger service might be
disabled. To check logger
service configuration use
CLI show version.
Look for the Logger
status in the printout.
If logger status is
disabled, contact
customer support
New user log
messages are not
added to the log when
expected to

more user-log
/tffs0/ device is
full. New messages
cannot be added to the
log files.
Use dir command to
check device free space
Delete old or
unnecessary files
from the SCE
