Chapter 10 Managing Performance
What Types of Data Reports Are Available?
10.5 What Types of Data Reports Are Available?
When performance data has been collected, the next step is to generate reports to present the data in the
most useful form; for example, as a summary for an at-a-glance indication of the health of the network,
or as an in-depth detailed report for analysis.
An at-a-glance report can provide quick information on any fault or failure on the network.
A more detailed report can be generated to help you understand traffic flows and how traffic changes
over time.
Performance data stored in the database can be plotted using a maximum of three PM parameters on
three consecutive graphs. The graphs can be printed using the PM table’s Print option.
This section includes the following information:
• 10.5.1 Viewing Raw Data Reports
• 10.5.2 Viewing Utilization Data
• 10.5.3 Viewing Performance Data Reports
• 10.5.4 Exporting the Data Report
Table 10-4 Report Types for Each Network Element
Network Element Report Types
Network Supports the following report types:
• Raw Data Report for cards, lines, ports, physical lines, protocol, and PNNI, in
the network.
• Performance Data Report for ports in the network.
• Utilization Data Report for ports in the network.
Node Supports the following report type:
• Raw Data Report for cards, lines, ports, physical lines, protocol, and PNNI, on
the node.
• Performance Data Report for ports on the node.
• Utilization Data Report for ports on the node.
Card Supports the following report type:
• Raw Data Report for all ports, protocol, and physical lines on the card.
Port Supports the following report types:
• Raw Data Report for ports and connections on the selected port.
• Performance Data Report for connections on the selected port.
• Utilization Data Report for connections on the selected port.
Line Supports the following report types:
• Raw Data Report for the line. If applicable, additional statistics are shown for
physical lines.
Paths Supports the Raw Data Report for paths.
