This guide is designed for system administrators and users who are responsible for the operation of the
Cisco MGM application.
Documentation
A Guide to Cisco Multiservice Switch Documentation ships with your product. That guide contains
general information about how to locate Cisco MGX and Cisco MGM documentation online.
Technical Manual Order of Use
Use the technical manuals in the following order:
Step 1 Refer to the documents that ship with your product. Observe all safety precautions.
Step 2 Refer to the release notes for your product.
Step 3 Refer to this manual for planning information.
Step 4 Refer to the manuals for information about installing cards and cables in the MGX chassis.
Step 5 Refer to the manuals that help you configure your MGX switch and processor cards.
Step 6 Refer to the manual that supports the additional cards you intend to install in your switch. For example,
the VISM book can help you set up your switch as a voice gateway, and the RPM book can help you
implement IP on the switch.
