Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch
The Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch is a Sun UNIX box running Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch software
Release 9. The Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch performs real-time, call-processing, and SS7-layer
functions; manages trunk resources, alarms, and call routing; and administers billing information.
Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch functionality includes:
• Processing calls
• Originating call detail records (CDRs)
• Providing alarm initiation information
• Producing operational peg counts
• Receiving and processing craft user interface (CUI) data
