Accessing the System Board
Step 4 Remove the screws located on the top of the chassis. Note that the chassis is composed of two sections:
top and bottom.
Step 5 Holding the chassis with both hands, position it as shown in Figure 1.
Step 6 Slide the top section away from the bottom section as shown in Figure 2.

T o remove the chassis cover:
Step 1 Power off the router and unplug the AC power cord.
Step 2 Disconnect all network interface cables from the rear panel.
Warning
Before opening the unit, disconnect the telephone-network cables to avoid contact with
telephone-network voltages. Statement 1041
Step 3 Attach an ESD-preventive wrist strap and ensure that it makes good contact with your skin. Connect the
equipment end of the wrist strap to the metal back plate of the chassis.
Step 4 Place the router on a flat surface. Remove the five screws located on top of the cover.
