Updates to the Software Configuration Guide
These are the updates to the software configuration guide:
This information in the “Enabling BPDU Guard” section of the “Configuring Optional
Spanning-Tree Features” chapter in the software configuration guide is incorrect:
When you globally enable BPDU guard on ports that are Port Fast-enabled (the ports are in a Port
Fast-operational state), spanning tree shuts down Port Fast-enabled ports that receive BPDUs.
This is the correct information:
When you globally enable BPDU guard on ports that are Port Fast-enabled (the ports are in a Port
Fast-operational state), spanning tree continues to run on the ports. They remain up unless they
receive a BPDU.
In the “Multi-VRF CE Configuration Guidelines” section of the “Configuring IP Unicast Routing”
chapter of the Cisco ME 3400 Switch Software Configuration Guide, this guideline is incorrect:
If no VRFs are configured, 104 policies can be configured.
This is the correct guideline:
If no VRFs are configured, up to 105 policies can be configured.
In the “Configuring Resilient Ethernet Protocol” chapter in the software configuration guide, and in
the command reference, the allowed range for the rep admin vlan vlan-id global configuration
command is shown as 1 to 4094. The correct range is 2 to 4094. To set the admin VLAN to 1, enter
the no rep admin vlan global configuration command to return it to the default.
This information is added to the “Using IEEE 802.1x Authentication with Per-User ACLs” section
of “Configuring IEEE 802.1x Port-Based Authentication” chapter of the software configuration
guide:
Per-user ACLs are supported only in single-host mode.
