Chapter 2 Preparing to Install

Step 6 Leave the cable guard off until power is on.
Step 7 Before you turn on the system power, check the supply voltage. Use the screws at positions 1 and 3 on
the pluggable terminal block as a convenient measuring point. Also, check the impedance between the
safety ground (screw at location 2 on the pluggable terminal block) and the chassis. It should be close
to 0.
Step 8 Turn on the power, and check the voltage at the screws at positions 1 and 3 on the pluggable terminal
block.
Step 9 Turn off the power, and go to Chapter 3, “Installing the IGX.”
Note In slots where no back card exists, a blank faceplate must reside to block electromagnetic interference
(EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) and to ensure correct air flow.
