Making Power and Ground Connections
• IGX 8430

Single power source for each shelf

Dual power source for each shelf (a separate branch circuit supplies each source)
Wiring is connected from one or two –48-VDC power sources to one or two DC PEMs per shelf. Cisco
does not provide the wire between the node and the source. Instead, the installer or customer must supply
it. These wires should be capable of carrying 20 A. The diagrams on the pages that follow show DC
wiring for single and redundant DC sources for all IGX models.
• For an IGX 8410 or IGX 8420 node with a single DC power source, see Figure 2-26.
• For an IGX 8410 or IGX 8420 node with redundant DC power sources, see Figure 2-27.
• For an IGX 8430 node with a single DC power source, see Figure 2-28.
• For an IGX 8430 node with redundant DC power sources, see Figure 2-29.
