Ethernet Connector Locks
Ethernet ports use either slide-type locks (as shown in Figure 4) or screw-type locks (shown in
Figure 5) to secure the cable to the port and provide strain relief. The slide-type lock is most common
and is used on the EIP ports. The type of connector lock you use on the EIP depends on the type of
Ethernet interface cables you use. Cables with two short posts on the cable connector need the
slide-type lock shown in Figure 4; a bracket on the port slides (or snaps) around the posts on the
cable connector to secure it.
