MGX 8220 Service Modules

In Release 4.1, the MGX 8220 shelf offers the following types of service modules:

• Channelized T1/E1 frame service modules

• Fractional T1/E1 frame service modules

• T1/E1 ATM UNI service modules

• T1/E1 Circuit Emulation service modules

• Inverse Multiplexer for ATM trunk module

• Combined 8 port ATM Inverse Multiplexer and ATM UNI service module

• High Speed FR service module

NoteThe 3T3 version of the Service Resource Module (SRM-3T3) is not a conventional service

module but does provide three T3 service lines to carry multiple T1 service lines.

Up to a total of ten service modules can be configured in an MGX 8220 shelf in slots 5 through 14.

Current service modules (T1/E1 service modules) can be configured with 1:N redundancy protection

if an optional SRM card is installed.
