Configure VPN Pass-through Settings

Use this page to configure Virtual Private Network (VPN) support. Enabling the settings on this
page allows VPN tunnels using IPsec or PPTP protocols to pass through the gateway’s firewall.

Field Description
VPN Passthrough
IPSec Pass-through. Enables/disables Internet Protocol
Security (IPsec). IPsec is a suite of protocols used to implement
secure exchange of packets at the IP layer. If you enable IPSec
Pass-through, applications that use IPsec (IP Security) can pass
through the firewall.
Select Disable to deactivate IPSec Pass-through.
Select the desired option:
Enable (factory default)
Disable
PPTP Pass-through. Enables/disables Point-to-Point Tunneling
Protocol (PPTP). PPTP allows the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP)
to be tunneled through an IP network. If you enable PPTP pass-
through, applications that use Point to Point Tunneling Protocol
(PPTP) can pass through the firewall.
Select Disable to deactivate PPTP Pass-through.
Select the desired option:
Enable (factory default)
Disable
Follow these instructions to configure VPN Pass-through settings:
1. From the Security menu in the toolbar, click the VPN Passthrough tab.
2. Use the information in the Field Description column in the table above to help you
populate the fields.
3. After you make your selections, click the Save Settings button to apply your
changes or click the Cancel Changes button to withdraw.
