MIB
Management Information Base. Database of network management information that is used and
maintained by a network management protocol, such as SNMP or CMIP. The value of a MIB object can
be changed or retrieved using SNMP or CMIP commands, usually through a graphical user interface
network management system. MIB objects are organized in a tree structure that includes public
(standard) and private (proprietary) branches.
MRCP
Media Resource Control Protocol. An application level protocol that enables client devices requiring
audio/video stream processing to control media service resources like Speech Synthesizers (TTS),
Speech Recognizers (ASR), Signal Generators, Signal Detectors, Fax Servers, and so on over a network.
This protocol is designed to work with streaming protocols like Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP)
or Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) which help establish control connections to external media streaming
devices, and media delivery mechanisms like Real Time Protocol (RTP).
