Step 1
Enable the content-scanning features that you
want the Email Security appliance to use for
incoming or outgoing messages.
The features you can enable and configure one or more of
the following:
• Anti-Virus
• File Reputation Filtering and File Analysis (incoming
messages only)
• Anti-Spam
• Outbreak Filters
• Data Loss Prevention (outgoing messages only)
• Content Filters
Step 2
(Optional) Create content filters for actions to
take on messages that contain specific data.
See Chapter 11, “Content Filters.”
Step 3
(Optional) Define an LDAP group query in
order to specify users to whom the mail policy
rules apply.

Step 4
(Optional) Define the default mail policies for
incoming or outgoing messages.
