Note If there are routes missing, continue with normal IP routing troubleshooting for the routing protocol
you are using.
If you determine that the interface is configured incorrectly, refer to the “Configuring Interfaces” chapter
in the Layer 3 Switching Software Feature and Configuration Guide.
Checking the Interface Status
Follow these steps to verify the interface status in the IP Layer 3 connection shown in Figure 11-16.

Step 1 Verify the status of the interfaces for the example network shown in Figure 11-16 using the show
controllers c8500 status command.
Step 2 From the Catalyst 8540-1, use the show controllers c8500 status command to display the status of the
interfaces used in this example.
