Step 4

Insert the GBIC into the GBIC slot guides. When installed, the GBIC input/output panel should be flush

with the face of the router. The tabs on either side of the GBIC will snap into place when the GBIC is

properly inserted.

Caution Do not remove the plug until you are ready to install the cables.

This completes the procedure for installing a GBIC module.

Proceed to the “Attaching Cables” section on page 17-32 to attach the SC-type fiber-optic cable to the

GBIC module.
