Installing SFP Modules or GBIC Modules
Installing an SFP Module
This section describes the procedure to insert an SFP module into the Gigabit Ethernet half-height line
card.
Step 1 Attach an antistatic wrist strap to your wrist and to an ESD socket on the chassis, or to a bare metal
surface on the chassis or frame (Figure 17-24).

Step 2 Gently insert the SFP module into the line card port until the edge connector is fully seated in the
connector (Figure 17-25). As the triangular pin on the bottom of the SFP module snaps into place, you
hear a click.
