Function:The RPC-2 MD01 remote power switch with
internal modem allows you to turn on, turn off or reboot
connected equipment. The unit contains six individual
relay controlled AC power receptacles that are controlled
by sending a short character string (command).
Access: The RPC2-MD01 has an internal 2400 bps
modem, or an EIA-232 control port.
Control: The RPC-2
MD01
supports commands for
receptacle control and status. These commands include:
on, off, config, reboot and status. The unit provides a
response to indicate that the commands were
acknowledged and completed.
In the event of a power failure to the unit itself, the RPC-2
MD01 retains the most current operational status for each
outlet in non-volatile memory. When the RPC regains
power, it restores each outlet to those status settings. For
example: if Outlet 1 and Outlet 2 are ON and the
remaining outlets are OFF when a power loss occurs,
Outlet 1 & 2 will be placed in the ON position. The power-
up routine to each receptacle is performed sequentially to
minimize power surges.
FYI: The Ring Detect Reset (RDR) feature will
automatically cycle power on the internal modem of the
RPC if an incoming call is detected and not answered
within 5 or 6 rings.
