vtp client

To place a device in VTP client mode, use the vtp client command. To return to VTP server mode, use

the no form of this command.

vtp client

Syntax Description This command has no arguments or keywo rds.

Defaults Disabled

Usage Guidelines I f the receiving switch is in client mode, the client switch changes its configuration to duplicate the

configuration of the server. If you have switches in client mode, make sure to make all VTP or VLAN

configuration changes on a sw itch in server mode.

The vtp server command is the functional equivalent of no vtp client except that it does not return an

error if the device is not in client mode .

Examples This exampl e shows how to place the device in VT P client mode:

Switch(vlan-config)# vtp client

Switch(vlan-config)#
