literally as shown.
italic font Indicates arguments for which you supply values.
[ x ] Square brackets indicate an optional element
(keyword or argument).
{ x } Braces indicate a required element (keyword or
argument).
{s | y | z} Braces and vertical bars indicate a required choice
of keywords or arguments, separated by the
vertical bars within the braces.
[ x {y | z}] Braces and vertical bars within square brackets
indicate a required choice within an optional
element.
/bits The value entered for /bits specifies a network
mask in classless interdomain routing (CIDR)
style. That is, the value equals the number of bits
in a network mask counting from the most
significant side (left) of an IP address. For
example, a /bits value of 24 is the equivalent of a
network mask of 255.255.255.0. Similarly, a /bits
value of 32 specifies using the entire IP address.
“user text” Indicates that user text (a user-defined text string)
that contains a space or spaces must be enclosed
using double or single quotes. If single quotes or
an apostrophe is used as part of the text string,
enclose the string using double quotes. If double
quotes are used as part of the text string, enclose
the string using single quotes.
For example, both Pats storage router and
number 2”’ are valid text string entries.
Note The question mark (?) character cannot be
used as part of a text string.
