Note Serial ports configured as DCE must also be configured with the clockrate
command. An error message will be generated if there is a mismatch between the cable and
the software configuration of the port—for example, if the cable is DTE and the clock rate
is set, or if the cable is DCE and the clock rate is not configured. For more information on
software commands, refer to the Cisco IOS configuration guides and command references.
G.703/G.704 Interface Connections
The G.703/G.704 network processor module is configured at the factory with four
E1-G.703/G.704 interface ports. Each port provides one 15-pin, D-shell (DB-15)
receptacle, which supports only E1-G.703/G.704 interfaces. (See Figure 4-25.)
