Take the following steps to remove the boot helper Flash memory SIMM in a
Cisco 4500-M or Cisco 4700-M:
Step 1 Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and ensure that it makes good contact with
your skin. Connect the equipment end of the wrist strap to the metal back plate of
the chassis, avoiding contact with the connectors.
Step 2 Locate the SIMM card socket labeled RxBoot Flash memory on the lower right
corner of the Cisco 4500-M and Cisco 4700-M motherboard. (See Figure C-2.)
Caution Handle SIMMs by the card edges only. SIMMs are ESD-sensitive components
and can be damaged by mishandling.

Pull the tabs away from

posts. Raise the SIMM
to a vertical position.
