Step 3 Conﬁgure the second synchronous serial interface:

Step 4 Continue to conﬁgure the remaining serial port(s) using similar parameters.

The multiport serial router is now conﬁgured properly and is ready to use. Enter

the setup command to modify the parameters after the initial conﬁguration. Enter

the conﬁgure command to perform more complex conﬁgurations. For additional

information, refer to the publication Cisco IOS command reference publication.

Step 5 Check the router settings by entering the show running-conﬁg command at the

enable prompt:

Router# show running-config

configuration register is 0x2102

Step 6 Store the conﬁguration, or changes to the startup conﬁguration, by entering the

copy running-conﬁg startup-conﬁg command at the enable prompt:

Router# copy running-config startup-config
