Getting Help
Here are some ways to get help while in any command mode:
• Enter a question mark to list the commands that are available in the current
mode. You can restrict the list to all commands starting with a specific letter
by entering that letter, followed by a question mark (no space):
Router (config-if)# s?
shutdown
snapshot
snmp
standby
Router
configuration
Enter your
router
command,
followed by the
appropriate
keyword, while
in global
configuration
mode.
Router(config-
router)#
• To exit to global
configuration
mode, enter the
end command.
• To exit to
privileged EXEC
mode, enter the
exit command, or
press Ctrl-Z.
Use this mode to
configure an IP routing
protocol.
Line
configuration
Specify a line
with the line vty
command while
in the global
configuration
mode.
Router(config-
line)#
• To exit to global
configuration
mode, enter the
exit command.
• To enter
privileged EXEC
mode, enter the
end command, or
press Ctrl-Z.
Use this mode to
configure parameters
for the terminal line.
