1-Port T1/FT1 DSU/CSU Card
The 1-port T1/Fractionalized T1 (FT1) WAN interface card includes an integrated data
service unit/channel service unit (DSU/CSU) and can be configured for either full T1 or
fractionalized T1 services.
Connecting the T1/FT1 Card to the Network
For this connection, use the straight-through RJ-45-to-RJ-45 cable that came with your
card.
Step 1 Confirm that the router is still turned OFF.
Step 2 Connect one end of the cable to the T1 port on the card.
Step 3 Connect the other end to the T1 wall jack (RJ-48C) at your site, as shown in
Figure 3-20.

LED Meaning
TD Data is being transmitted to the DTE interface.
RD Data is being received from the DTE interface.
LP Internal DSU/CSU is in loopback mode.
AL One of these alarm conditions is present: no
receive signal, loss of frame signal from the
remote station, or out of service signal from the
remote station. This LED is off during normal
operation.
CD Internal DSU/CSU in the WAN interface card
is communicating with another DSU/CSU.
