Appendix D Regulatory Information
FCC and Telephone Company Procedures and Requirements
This equipment produces electromagnetic energy at radio frequencies and, if not
installed and operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions as
contained in this document, could cause interference to radio communications
and/or interfere with the operation of other RF devices. The equipment has been
tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A Computing Device
pursuant to Subpart B of Part 15 of the FCC Rules, which are designed to provide
reasonable protection against such interference when the equipment is operated in
a commercial environment. Operation of the equipment in a residential area may
cause interference. Should this occur, the user may be required to discontinue
operation of the equipment, or take other such measures as may be adequate to
rectify the condition at the user’s expense.
If Problems Arise
If any of your telephone equipment is not operating properly, you should
immediately remove it from your telephone line, as it may cause harm to the
telephone network. The telephone operating company must be notified before
removal of equipment that is connected to 1.544 Mbps digital services. If the
telephone company notes a problem, it may temporarily discontinue service.
When practical, the telephone company will notify you in advance of this
disconnection. If advance notice is not feasible, you will be notified as soon as
possible. When you are notified, you will be given the opportunity to correct the
problem and informed of your right to file a complaint with the FCC.
In the event repairs are needed on this equipment, they should be performed by
Cisco Systems or an authorized representative of Cisco Systems.
