Connecting to the Network and Powering Up the Router
After installing the router, install the Flash memory card (optional), connect the interface
cables, and then connect the power supply. All the connectors are on the rear panel of the
router. (See Figure 2-3.) The connectors, from left to right, are as follows:

Note EIA/TIA-232 and EIA/TIA-449 were known as recommended standards RS-232
and RS-449 before their acceptance as standards by the Electronic Industries Association
(EIA) and Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA).
