Inspecting Your Router

If an electrical accident occurs, proceed as follows:
Use caution; do not become a victim yourself. Disconnect power to the router.
If possible, send another person to get medical aid. Otherwise, assess the condition
of the victim and then call for help.
Determine if the person needs rescue breathing or external cardiac compressions;
then take appropriate action.
Warning This product relies on the building’s installation for short-circuit (overcurrent)
protection. Ensure that a fuse or circuit breaker no larger than 120 VAC, 15A U.S.
(240 VAC, 10A international) is used on the phase conductors (all current-carrying

Warning When installing the main wiring, the ground connection must always be made

Inspecting Your Router
Keep the router in the shipping container to prevent accidental damage until you have
determined where you want to install it; then unpack it. Check the packing list to ensure
that you received the following items:
Cisco 1005 router
Console cable (RJ-45 to RJ-45) with an RJ-45-to-DB-25 adapter
