J.10.12 Service Agent Problems
RtmProxy is the only component in the Service Agent that is used in CTM. The Service Agent processes
your requests through SNMP, convey them to the switch agent, and finally returns the result to you.
J.10.12.1 RtmProxy
RtmProxy is CTM's northbound SNMP interface, providing traps from all switches to customer
applications. It is an interface with which the customer application registers for traps. The customer
application uses SNMP to register with RtmProxy. Figure J-7 shows the flow of information.
Figure J-7 RTMProxy
The OSS/Manager send an SNMP request to port 8161 of the CTM machine. In this request, the
OSS/Manager specify the port on which OSS/Manager are listening for. In the above example, the
Manager is sent traps on port 162. The registration, deregistration, and other such scripts can be found
at /opt/svplus/scripts/proxyscripts/rtmproxy on a CTM machine. These scripts can be used for reference
for registration and deregistration with RtmProxy. These scripts are meant only for internal use.
